SCAR THERAPY

Scar therapy uses a combination of specialist massage and fascial techniques to treat the scar and the underlying tissue. Treatment can help to soften fibrosis, improve tissue mobility and reduce symptoms associated with scarring.

Knee Replacement Scar
C Section Scar

Symptoms that can be improved include:

  • Pain, sensitivity or numbness around the scar

  • Tightness or restricted movement

  • Pulling or puckering of the skin

  • Fibrous scar tissue or scar adhesions

  • Raised, thickened or discoloured scarring

Scars treated include:

  • C-section scars

  • Surgical scars — knee replacement, hip replacement, mastectomy

  • Burns and trauma scars

  • Post-cancer treatment scars

  • Keloid and hypertrophic scars

  • Cosmetic surgery scars

A personalised treatment plan is created following a comprehensive assessment. Scars of any age can be treated. Self-care advice for managing your scar at home is provided.

Important: Scars must be fully healed before treatment begins. Please contact us if you are feeling unwell or are currently taking antibiotics.
